Okay, haven't posted anything for a while, so I apologize. However, recently I have discovered a love for Animation. Particularly using Adobe After Effects (I haven't got round to trying anything else yet, I'm sure they will follow soon). So far I have only done a short animation which I thought would take much longer than it did. I cannot wait to learn the software more and find out exactly what I can do. I'm sure there will be many more clips, but for now, my first animation...

Nostalgia
Okay, so it's a New Year and for a change, as most people are looking forwards, I'm going to look back, I'm choosing to look at some of the work I have done in the past that I am particularly pleased in, even if it's only aspects of a piece of work. The first will have to be my final A-level piece:
You're probably thinking it's a very dark piece, and not just for the reasons of it being all black and white. So here's the back story, it's actually a poster advertising a short movie that my friend had filmed under the name "Life's A Bitch".
I will grant you it has faded somewhat since I painted it, although I must say, I had lots of fun doing it and am still rather proud of some of the shading on this piece.
Why not continue along the education theme, aye? Okay then, here we are with my final from art foundation. Well, one of. Overall I think I produced around 7-8 of variants of the original image, all with different colours and line work, must say that these are my favourites out of the collection though.

Logo
Okay, so I need something to identify my work, something to let people know who's stuff they are looking at/through, so a logo is a must. I played around with a few concepts and found two I like, one you can see as the banner for this here blog you're reading, the other is right here:
As you can tell there isn't a large difference between the two, the only actual difference is the swirl on this logo, but I like it, makes it look arty and what not. The other one looks more professional so I will probably only use the swirl for an artsy type of business card.

Magazine Cover
Every good comic needs a cover of some sort! Something I must admit I overlooked until recently and am ashamed of quite frankly, thankfully the matter has been resolved and a cover there is... Ta-Da!
I struggled for ideas to begin with but eventually came up with this idea of the zombie bursting out of the ground. I feel this cover is exciting enough that it could attract people to perhaps take a peek inside and see what the story portrays. Or even just to find out the meaning behind the random name I've given my comic. But therein is another nugget of information that I cannot divulge just yet. Maybe someday soon.

Magazine

It's that time boys and girls! The moment you've all been waiting for. The time for me to work on my magazine! Yay! Wooo!..... Ahem.. Sorry about that. Where was I? Ah yes, the magazine. Since deciding to do "Good vs Evil" I had the storyline in mind for the magazine, noted it all down and now have finally got down to drawing it, it's only a small comic, but maybe if the mood takes me I shall do a next issue! You know, once I finish the first issue....
Poster
So I have both forces done and both charging and looking angry, or in the "Evil" case, looking dead, which I suppose is a good thing, being zombies and all, I digress. I put the two forces together and it didn't look quite right as it was so I put in a horizon line. In keeping with my theme of using appropriate backgrounds I decided to have a middle ground flooring and then portray the sides using the sky, that way the style is still there and it doesn't look like the figures are "floating in space". Wow I dislike that phrase, cannot believe I'm using it, next thing I'll be saying "less is more". Oh well, I nearly went a full post without going on a tangent.
